Hope Rests (Tentative Title)

Lyrics:

Grace and peace feel far from me
And I can’t find my eyes to see
Where it is that You are leading me

My heart’s been crushed by many things
Your fires come; they’re testing me
And I can see where I’m not trusting Thee

I know how to fall; won’t You teach me how to rise
For when I can neither hear the song nor the glorious reprise

My hope rests in a God who would search my heart and still decide
     to see His actions through

(Even when I tried to run away)

Selfishness and pride are there
Finding me when I’m stripped bare
These enemies relentless do not care

They wage a war I cannot win
Without the helping hand of Him
Who saw the war at its foundations begin

I know how to fall; won’t You teach me how to rise
For when I can neither hear the song nor the glorious reprise

My hope rests in a God who would search my heart and still decide
     to see His actions through

You came through the very storm
My guilty hands helped to cause
Even though it would cost more than Your life

You gave up being God
To free me from the very arms
I chose to embrace without a second thought

I know how to fall; won’t You teach me how to rise
For when I can neither hear the song nor the glorious reprise

My hope rests in a God who would search my heart and still decide
     to see His actions through

You did not cast me aside
You still chose to call me Your bride
Even though I’d run away from the altar a thousand times

Explanation:

This song represents the epitome of a rough demo of a song. The timing is a little off and things, but I was eager to get it posted because I like the song so much.

It’s pretty self-explanatory, but the song is about coming to grips with all that He has done and trying to wrap my mind around it.

I hope that you enjoy the lyrics and the music.
