Jesus knew that the Father had given him authority over everything and that he had come from God and would return to God. So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him.
John 13:3-5
I don’t have much to say about these few verses from the John 13. I feel as though they pretty much speak for themselves.
I’ve written a lot recently on humility, and these three verses absolutely blow my mind when it comes to this topic.
Is there ever a moment that I shouldn’t be humble? That I shouldn’t consider others before myself?
I find it hard to answer yes to any of these questions after seeing and meditating on this.
Jesus knew He had all authority over everything. So, He got up, wrapped a towel around his waist, and began washing the disciples feet.
